| Students from Queen Margaret Academy in Ayr joined
the college community to celebrate the Easter Triduum. This celebration
offered the Scotus student community the opportunity to work with
an impressive group of young people while also offering to the Queen
Margaret students an unforgettable experience of celebrating the Church's
liturgy.
The event started on Holy Thursday with
sessions on Prayer and its importance in our lives. The Mass of
the Lord's Supper was celebrated on Thursday evening with everyone
sharing in the 'washing of feet'. After celebrating the Eucharist
we processed through the darkened college to the place of repose.
Good Friday included various workshops before the formal liturgy
of the Lord's Passion. These included a session on poverty and social
justice in the Middle East.. Our evening prayer service was moving
and emotional with the students of Queen Margaret Academy leading
the students of Scotus in prayers around the cross.
Holy Saturday was spent waiting at the tomb of the Lord and preparing
for the vigil. The Easter Vigil was celebrated with excitement,
with song, procession and movement. Later in the night after a short
break we made our way up the Queen's View to watch the sunrise.
There, in the light of the rising sun, we read the Easter Gospel
and concluded our prayer and our time together. |
